about
The song was inspired by the passing of one of my favorite guitarists, Eddie Van Halen. After his death, I began thinking about when he and his former wife Valerie Bertinelli were the “it” couple in the '80s and '90s, and a flood of wonderful memories came back to me. Though I wrote the lyrics with them in mind, they are universal and relevant to anyone who has fond memories that are brought back by photos, music, or whatever it may be. I wanted to create a celebratory song that people can relate to, especially as there have been such difficult circumstances affecting us all during the last couple of years.
There was a time when rainbows filled the room
There was a time when rainbows filled the room
The world was filled with hope
By every word you spoke
There was a time, there was a time, there was a time
There was a child, the angels sang in tune
There was a child, the angels sang in tune
The world eternal springs
From all of life's much finer things
There was a child, hang on to him, there was a time
(There was a child, there was a child)
Don't pretend to be
All the things that everyone around you sees
Quiet brings the sound of inner harmony
Washing over like a breeze
Let it be, yeah
There was a time when rainbows filled the room
(There was a time)
There was a time when rainbows filled the room
(There was a time)
The world was filled with hope
By every single word you spoke
There was a time, there was a time, there was a time
(There was a time)
(There was a time)
There was joy, there was hope
There was peace, there was love
There was joy, there was hope
There was peace, there was love
There was joy, there was hope
There was peace, there was love
There was a time, there was a time, there was a time
(There was a time)
(There was a time) There was a time
(There was a time)
(There was a time) There was a time

Stephanie Seymour's melodic, harmony-laden songs answer the musical question, “What happens when you combine Aimee Mann,
Chrissie Hynde, and Karen Carpenter, add a dash of Matthew Sweet, and mix thoroughly with catchy hooks and memorable lyrics?” Give a listen and find out for yourself!...more

I didn't know that day in December would be my last time either. I think about D. all the time -- the funniest, most inspired person I knew. And I just know he's jamming on The Royal Scam with Walt on guitar haha! matthew danger lippman

The man who invented himself has, once again, worked wonders employing the so-called Double Cat System. Known for his mysterious coral igloos, none of this comes as any surprise. He becomes a household name with this one. alien9
